Former television actress Sana Khan, who quit showbiz for spiritual reasons, recently appeared on Rubina Dilaik’s podcast Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi. During the conversation, the 36-year-old spoke at length about her transformational journey and shared insights about her marriage and family. She also spoke about embracing the hijab, revealing that her decision stemmed from her desire to attain spiritual peace and connection with her faith.

Talking to Rubina, the former Bigg Boss contestant shared an anecdote from her trip to Maldives. She recalled how many admired her decision to wear an abaya on her trip. “One thing that I saw was with the Muslim crowd, jo ladies Muslim ho yaa modest ladies ho… they would say we earlier felt if you are going to Maldives you have to wear short clothes or swimwear only. Jo celebrities pehan ke dikhate hain… but when we saw your picture we realized we can enjoy at the Maldives even wearing Abayas. Then I saw so many families who actually went to Maldives who I knew and they wore Abaya. They shared with me how they told their husbands that Sana wore, so why can’t we?” Sana said.

The former actress said she was overwhelmed by the response and said, "I never thought it would bring about such a change. I just thought, Main toh abaya, hai pehenti hoon, yahi pehenke goomungi Maldives, my. I literally wore a jilbab, an abaya, and a scarf. My husband and I played table tennis and we wore hijabs. Imagine me wearing a hijab and going snorkeling."

However, not everyone agreed with her choice of outfit on the beach in Maldives. Sana revealed that while some people criticized her decision, she didn't react and made the most of the trip. "They don't know what they're talking about, so I can't get angry. I let these people go. They don't know why I've suddenly changed. You shouldn't feel guilty about it," Sana added.

In a recent conversation, Sana Khan recounted her decision to wear the hijab permanently on her birthday during the COVID-19 pandemic. She said, "When I decided to wear the hijab, my husband didn't know about it. He wasn't my husband then. We had just met. It was during COVID that I started wearing the headscarf, so everyone thought it was because of the pandemic. I remember ordering a headscarf as it was my birthday. The next day, I started wearing it and from that moment on, I was determined to never take it off again."

Sana also spoke about the positive influence of her husband, Anas Sayyad. She continued, "So I told Anas that I had decided to wear the hijab permanently. He asked me if I was sure and advised me to think it over. He said, 'Make sure you do this with a clear mind and not just in the heat of the moment. Today you may wear it but tomorrow you might take it off, so think it through.' I assured him that I had thought it through. Anas was someone who always highlighted the good in life and had a positive influence on me."
